In support of Kampaign for Kids, the Boys & Girls Club of Sparta has been given a matching committment of $8,000 from Mathew's Inc. Mathew's wants their matching gift to encourage new donors to give to the Boys & Girls Club of Sparta. In return, Mathew's will match dollar for dollar up to $8,000. If you give, your gift will be effectively doubled.
This year's first Kampaign for Kids donation was collected by the empolyees at Century Food. Employees presented the Boys & Girls Club's Executive Director, Wendy Franke, with at $638.00 check from the Century Foods' Christimas party collection and chilli cook-off that was organized by the employees.
Thank you to the Sparta Rotary Club and the Good Citizens for hosting the Kampaing for Kids Kick Off event that raised $5,200. Thank you to the many people who donated and bid on raffle and auction items. Thank you also to Best Western for donating the space for this year's events and to the band Rusty Star for donating their time and talents.
This year's honary Kampaign for Kids chair is 11 year old, Justin Abbott, a Boys & Girls Club member of 3 years.
