Learning Center

The Learning Center offers two homework help programs - Project Learn and Power Hour. Other than a current Club membership, there is no cost to take advantage of these services. As an added bonus, Club members can earn incentives, including power points and prizes, for joining these programs!

Project Learn
Project Learn offers homework assistance in a pleasant, quiet and structured environment. Club members choose to come to the Learning Center for a quiet workspace or to receive help with their studies. They are free to leave whenever they want, and we do not require parental consent to participate. Club members participating in Project Learn are able to participate in all of our incentive programs.

Power Hour
Power Hour is an extension of Project Learn. This program requires a commitment to a scheduled time when youth will come to the Learning Center. Club members can be enrolled for homework support or tutoring in a specific subject. Staff members also collaborate with families, teachers and guidance counselors to track progress, concerns and successes. Parents must enroll their children in this program.

The Learning Center is staffed with experienced teachers, college students, trained tutors, and caring volunteers. Homework support and tutoring are available during regular Club hours. The Learning Center provides Internet access, educational software, math and reading manipulatives, and a large variety of reading materials. In addition the Learning Center offers a motivating environment with staff members who encourage positive behaviors and attitudes towards school and homework!
